There are many reasons why having your own wine cellar is an excellent idea. We’ll let you in on the different kinds and things to bear in mind.
Setting up your own wine cellar
Having your own wine cellar doesn’t necessarily mean a palatial barrel vault holding hundreds of bottles. A well-sorted shelf or wine fridge could be perfectly adequate. After all, there are a few good reasons to have more than just three bottles of wine at home:

For unexpected visitors or spontaneous invitations to dinner. In order to avoid buying unknown wines from a garage or kiosk, it is always worth having a basic supply of everyday wines priced at under EUR 10 in your cellar.
2. Wine to pair with food
Are you trying a new recipe or planning a multi-course menu? Wouldn’t it be wonderful to have a selection of wines in your cellar to pair with food?
3. Wines for ageing
Some wines are not yet at their peak at the time when you buy them. It’s best to wait and open a bottle every few months or years. Experiencing this development is a true joy for wine lovers.
4. Special offers
Make use of special offers, visits to a winemaker or when on holiday in a wine-growing region to stock up on your favourite wine.
5. Rare wines
Special wines are often bought up quickly on the market. Buy up these exceptional wines and enjoy them over a longer period of time.
